Rad reading- April!

For this month, I read “A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder” this book was about a young girl named Pippa as she starts her project on a murder in her small town. Most kids are doing their projects on baking or something small, but Pippa has been very interested in a murder that has happened a few years ago. But what pippa doesn’t know, is that this will open a wormhole to putting herself, family, and friends in danger. And as Pippa inches closer to finding the truth, she learns things she wishes she didn’t.

I loved this book because the plot twist was jaw dropping. This book knew exactly how to lure you in and make you only want to read more. After it picked up from the beginning, it never had a moment where I wasn’t left shocked or entertained. The author also did a great job crafting the characters and giving them all a part to play, no character was “useless”.

My favorite character was Pippa. She was incredibly brave and smart. For example, she went head to head with many dangerous people including Howie Bowers where she showed up after his “deal” with photos of him doing illegal business and demanded answers to help solve the crime. She was also smart because besides the fact that she solved a whole murder, she also knew exactly how to gather evidence and what cards to play. Whenever she was going to figure something out, she could always come up with excuses to be where she is, in case someone dangerous was listening.

my favorite quote was “But the one person who stayed good until the end was Sal.” Because it wraps up the ending and shows to all the people that what happened was cruel and an innocent man didn’t deserve that. This also made the Singh family very happy because now they could go out in public without being shamed.

Three Favorite Memories

Seventh grade has given me some amazing memories. One of them being the day we got to watch the hunger games in core! I loved this because it was the perfect use of a block schedule period. We would all get to relax while hearing the hunger games play, and we would sit happily and watch. Another great day was when we got ice cream! We had just helped a competition, however we didn’t win. But since we made it so competitive, we were given ice cream! This was a great memory because the whole class chipped in and was rewarded! Finally, an amazing memory from this year was playing volleyball all together in pe! I liked this because my favorite people from that class would all get together and we would all just have fun! In conclusion, this year was one of my favorites and I will miss it so much!

20% project- week 6!

Well, I guess this is the last week. I haven’t reached my goal YET, but that’s okay! I will continue to work on it whenever I can, and I know I will reach it eventually. Tonight, I will do drills for my form and I will ask my coach to let me practice a standing tuck.

20% project- week 5!

For this week, I went to two tumbling classes. One of them I worked on form and drills, and the other I worked on actual tucks. I gained back some of the progress I lost, and my coach said I was very close. However, I did not fully reach my goal yet. I did tucks on a trampoline as a way to prep me and get good form, then I moved down to doing it off a block, then I worked on doing it flat.

Enough for me

This image is important because it shows how much you can change your life and mood based on perspective. The little boy on the left with many toys is expected to be happy because of how much he has, but instead he is miserable and ungrateful. However, the little boy on the right is content with a wood toy car and a stick. This is all about perspective and how grateful you are. One of the little boys considers less to be enough, and the other one considers more to not be enough. I can relate to this because I have been the little boy. And no, as much as I wish, I was not the grateful one. When I was little, I was given almost everything I wanted and I would still cry and complain. But now, I have changed sides completely. I am perfectly comfortable where I am now and I am grateful for the little things.

20% project- week 4

For this week, I made little to no progress. I had no access to a gym, so instead I used my trampoline. However, I couldn’t see how close I was to getting my real standing tuck. Since I had a trampoline, I really worked on my form and keeping my head and legs tucked. Although this week was unsuccessful, next week I will work on the basics and make progress!

20% project- week 3!

This week was the most successful I’ve had in a while! My legs were tucked and not spread out when I was tucking, and I landed it! Well, not fully because I ended up back on my knees, but close enough! My goal for next week will be to stick my landing. I will achieve this by driving my hips forward and standing strong.

My Favorite Room

My favorite room in my home is my game room! This room is the only room located on the second floor and is completely massive. As soon as I get home from school, I run upstairs and watch tv upstairs! When my friends come over, we sleep upstairs on the many couches! This room has many uses to me, and has many things to do. For example, you could play pool, darts, watch tv, make food, sleep, etc all in one room! I also like it because I can get away from everyone in my family and just relax. Sometimes, we all need a break! So, I can go upstairs and no one will bother me without warning from the stairs. Finally, it is a mini apartment! It has a bathroom, kitchen, sleeping area, dining table, couch, tv, and it even includes games! As you can see, I have many reasons as to why my favorite room is my game room!

Standing tuck- week 2

For this week, I got very close! My form wasn’t the best, but I was slowly inching by. My tumbling coach still won’t let me, though, so I have to practice behind his back. Not much changed this week, all that happened was I got closer. However, my knees weren’t fully tucked and they were apart, so I am going to focus on tucking more and bringing them closer together. However, I am far from landing it without a spot still. Next week, I am going to focus on landing and form. See you then!

20% Project #1 – Standing Tuck

Hello, my goal for this project is to do a standing tuck. This week, I made no progress. My tumbling class didn’t help because my coach doesn’t push me to do a standing tuck, and I wasn’t focusing on standing tucks at stunt class (the place where we have almost complete freedom). And whenever I tried to “throw” it, I got no height and wouldn’t tuck. This week was a complete fail. However, my goals for next week are to tuck my knees, get more height and not back out. After I get comfortable with this, I will move on to fully throwing it. See you next week!
