Rad reading

For the month of January, I fully finished Unravel me. A lot has happened since I wrote my December rad reading on it, and as the book gets deeper you learn more about Adam and Warner. Without spoiling anything, Juliette finds that some people are immune to her touch gift. This may seem harmless, but it leads to chaos when one of the immune persons gift starts to wear off, and the other one learns he can observe her, and others powers. This sends them over the edge and they try their hardest to escape from where they are being held hostage, and they might just take Juliette with them.

I enjoyed this book a lot because it had much more plot twists when I got further into the book and it had much more meaning and got way more interesting. You learn more about Adam and Warner in a jaw dropping way and you watch as Juliette struggles as she finds out more about her abilities and that she may have to make a choice as her betrayal of Adam grows worse.

Warner was my favorite character in this second half. You got to see a whole new side of him playing with a dog, and he has much more quotes that change your view of him. You also see his scars in this book and his “ignite” tattoo with a story behind it.

My favorite quote was “hell is empty and all the devils are here.” Because it shows a new side to Warner in a way you have never seen him. This quote happens when he is held captive and he is talking to Juliette. This shows he really cares about Juliette

My hero

My hero is Lilah Taylor. She is my hero because she is a good friend, a strong base, a good tumbler, and smart. Whenever I need advice, I go to Lilah. She always knows what to say to cheer me up and stop me from caring about the little things. She loves reading and is always on top of her school work. She fears nothing. During practice, Lilah will always try a new skill and be fearless, even if she gets hurt in the process. For example, she fearlessly did a round off back handspring tuck, she fell and did a kick full, but she laughed it off like it was nothing. And during stunting, she always stays in the stunt and is never afraid to get hurt to catch the flyer. Lilah always knows how to get an answer out of someone, no matter how much they don’t want to answer the question. Lilah doesn’t let little things bother her, and she has no fear speaking her mind. She always knows the funniest things to say at random times. For example, if you’re sad, Lilah will always come out of no where and start singing. Lilah Taylor is my hero for all of these reasons and I hope someday everyone will be more like her.

Rad reading

For this month, I am reading “Unravel me” by Tereheah Mafi. This is the second book after the first “Shatter me” and the novella. In this book, Juliette is staying in omega point with other gifted people and their leader castle. In omega point, she goes through multiple tests for her abilities, but finally feels normal in a place full of other gifted people. As she struggles in this new area, having Adam as her only companion, she learns that Aaron Warner is indeed alive and well, how will Juliette ever get out of this mess of problems slowly stacking?

This book has really interested me. I have loved watching Juliette and Adam discover more and more about themselves and their abilities while at omega point. I am also very excited to find out more about what will happen with Warner and Juliette in this book.

My favorite character is Kenji. Kenji is funny and will always be light heartedly poking fun at Adam and Juliette. And Kenji is the one person okay with calming Juliette down after she tried to cause mass destruction. I loved watching his character development from kind of a mean dumb guy to a hardworking one who cares about Adam and Juliette.

My favorite quote was “I was the one who held you back.” Because it shows Kenji would risk it all for Juliette when she was panicking and almost destroyed omega point. This is also about the time when Juliette finds something out about Adam so it truly shows the emotion she has and how angry she was and how much she would do just to defend him.

2023 Year Word

This year my intention word is confident. There are a few reasons I chose this. First off, I get so nervous over the most little people, problems, or words. I need to not care as much and let it roll off my back more. I also need to feel more secure in myself so that I can feel more secure in other people, because it would really strengthen relationships with friends and family. Another reason is because I need to not overthink little comments or criticism. For example, when I am basing and get yelled at for a little thing that really wouldn’t make a difference, I get so bothered and hurt by it. I also need to be more confident in my tumbling skills. I get so scared and never throw my tumbling even though I know I can land it and I’ll be fine. I really need to be more confident in myself, so I can make all these things possible!
